What I Wore… On NYE

Ok. So since I’m really not able to wear this dress anywhere again, I’ve decided to throw my own self and one of my designs at the mercy of you my dear readers. This is my dress, designed by yours truly, that I wore to my chosen new year’s eve party. I went to the fabric store thinking to myself that I need to get something made which stands out and avoids the unthinkable of turning up in a dress that someone else has on. I mean, its new year’s eve! A statement must be made.

So I had a pair of shoes in mind to create an outfit around, and I’m browsing looking for something in blue cus that’s what I think will match my shoe perfectly when lo and behold I spot a turquoise fabric on a mannequin. It was absolutely gorgeous! Just my luck that they would have only 2 yards left in a purple/plum colour. I grabbed it up of course, it was fabulous, perfect for the occasion, but of course it meant that my shoe once again had lucked out as I had the perfect idea to compliment this fabric. Blue tulle and blue/purple shoes!

Voila….what do you think?

I experimented with these shoes to complete a slight punk rock lock with black accessories…but there was no denying that the blurple shoe complemented the dress perfectly.

    i luv it…& that is so true on new years eve 2 show up in a dreess that some 1 else has on is a fashion no no…

    so thumbs up!!!cuz being a fashion critic u always have 2 bee on point no matter how simply dressed u r…& u have passed..hehe…

    but im not a fan of the dress. the design is great but i dont like the colour. and i think the top could have been made to fit better. it’s a problem i usually have with clothes as well but the top could have been made to better accentuate your chest.

    You a great job with your creation. Im stil on the sideline though to this dress. I have summin a lil similar with the frills, but the dress was way longer.

    when i saw it first I thought it was real high fashion…runway like, almost. The top part couldve been a little more fitted….think bustiiere shaped (a so it spell) with push up cleavage. U have boobs so u shoulda flaunt them. But it rocks with those blue shoes…this style is very madonna. Go girl u a gwaan!

    i like the colour coordination very unique and the fact that its short custommade stuff most times is the way 2 go i think i saw you @ the party was Absinthe genesis was it?

    Mo Mo, I love the silhouette of this dress and the colour is awesome. I think you are not only a fashionista and connoisseur of all that is fashionable but u are also artisan which is important, because critics only critcise while artisans create and put themselves out there to be critiqued. The bodice should definitely have been better made to support and accentuate your ample bosom though. But that can be modified. I love love love it. When will we get the full irie diva line?

    I loved the dress, and the shoes, loved the whole look, but I going to hop on the band wagon and to agree on the Top part of the dress, should have been made to more accentuate your chest, not necessarily revealing, it looks a little bit draped across your chest, making your breasts look a little bit pressed down, but besides that, everything else is working for you!

    btw..The black gladiator shoes…please and thank you :D

    Irie i have a prob.. did my hair like the rhianna ting now my bday coming up i have no idea what to do with it now that Ive grown tired of I need some ideas the next thing is outfits I m crushed where thats concern because where I live I gaurantee it will b at least 12 degrees on my bday! help!
