Jamaican Red Carpet…Youth View Awards Stylee
Feb 8th, 2009 | By Irie Diva | Category: Fashionable Events, Jamaican CelebritiesYou know, I was anxiously awaiting the pics to come in from the Youth View Awards, because we Jamaicans go ALL OUT for anything paparazzied! This being a youthful event I knew the long, satin, bedazzled dresses would take a back seat to funktified outfits and trendiness all around. Remember I told you that poufy skirts were happening? They were all OVER that piece! How about this time I shut my mouth and you tell me who was so hot and who was SO NOT? This is a long post…grab some popcorn and pull up a chair.
You can click on each pic to view larger…here goes:
Up and Comer Raine Seville (singer)…this design looks like it could be a Dexter Pottinger creation…anyone?
Stacia Davidson of Yaad Trenz, Photographer Ryan Lue-Clarke and Mystic
Jody Plummer (oops, someone didnt read this ) love the colour tho…looks like water in the flash
Yendi Phillipps (Miss Jamaica World 2007) and Ryan
Dancehall Artist Chino with Raine
Dancehall Artiste Laden and his very stylish jeans…
Digenius was feeling Valentiney
D’Angel partied with the kidz
Are you loving the colour combos as much as I am? RDX and Co
Moriah and Gerren came to town… (from BET’s Baldwin Hills)
Gerren’s put alot of thought into her outfit…
Then thought a little harder…
Moriah and some REAL superstar power…Usain "fastest man in the world" Bolt…lose them shades B
Loving Etana’s stage skirt…
Not so much her dress…
Tifa ALWAYS brings the funk
Loving the one sleeve though
Loving the Red Carpet look much more
When I saw O’Neil from Voicemail in this I was a little disappointed…
But not to worry…as always…Voicemail knows how to dress!
Ding Dong came very close too… loving the suit, I’ll overlook the white glasses and white shoes. The bow tie is a little too formal for the event…but I am loving the effort to look classy not….
I have no words…
Sharon Schroeter in liquid leggings………….
Lets take a break as the guys show us "to the worl’
Loves it
Looking good Tami Chynn!
Dude is giving you the "I’m too sexy"
Is that velour?
Loving the jumpsuit…hating the colours…
Awww the kiddies…too cute
Some pictures were courtesy of Ryan Lue-Clarke
Some from 876radio.com they have loads more there…check ‘em out.
I’m done…now you’re turn…who was the best and worst dressed at this year’s YVAs?

loooove tami chyn’s outfit, etana’s, d’angel’s and tifa’s…voicemail looked great on stage..and the girls in blue looked good
mystic’s outfit was a flop for me…sorry…and yendi (as much as I adore her) looked very plain…not at all like the glamorous title she held…genius was good too…but apart from that i was a littl disappointed- i never saw the glam to it- it kinda just looked like a dressed up session
sorry
Where should I start Irie Diva…
Raine Seville looked ok, but I don’t think that outfit was appropriate, thought she was promoting “Cotton Candy” (the party that is. Mystic now, my girl come again…dat nah cut dash…Big up Yendi Phillipps and Tami Chynn simple but yet so beautiful…not trying to over do it like some who still come out flop. RDX, expected to be extravagant. Loving Etana’s look, I share the same sentiments with u Diva, and for Sharon Schroeter she can never look good.
For the rest of the pics I didn’t comment on, you should be happy…lolol
Loving Raine Seville & Tifa’s dress. Yendi was just ok, Tami looked nice. Mystic dress look cheap (she buy that satin downtown then give it to apprentice fi mek it). The visitors from Baldwin Hill wasn’t even needed. The guys… oh well, only Chino & Voice Mail suit on stage did it for me. And Sharon honey ure too fat to wear liquid leggings
i love daniells red carpet look it was off the chain. most of the oufits were saying one.
Yendi and Tami did it for me. Simple yet stunning. Also D’angel and Tifa. I presume that from last year alot of the persons didnt go really dressy. It wasnt all all out star studded event so simplicity was the order of the night.
