Another staging of the Island Couture fashion event rolls around this Saturday, February 28th. Come schmooze with industry mainstays and newbies alike as the Pulse models sashay down the runway dressed in authentic Jamaican designs by Mutamba, Minka, T&T Fashions and Simi Ya House with accessories by Cinderalla Hats. The monthly celebration of Jamaican fashion is slated for Saturday February 28, 2009 and will commence at 7:30pm by the Hilton Kingston poolside as a feature of the Jamaica theme night, highlighting Jamaican food, culture, art, fashion and music. The show will feature live guest performances by young new talent Tanice Morrison and international recording artiste Cezar Cunningham. All this is charge free, fashion and cocktails will be on sale.

Now on to the partay! Klump has made a name for itself as the wild, let loose party around a pool, or in the pool if you choose! Its a party thats good for the pocket and the fun bone! This year’s theme is Toga and of course I have the low done on funky-fying your toga get-up. First of all…a toga doesn’t have to be white! This is the cheapest type of party to attend when it comes to the age old question…"what will I wear!" Buy 2 yards of gorgeous material and drape it around your body to cover up and show as you please. The halter toga as shown below is tres chis and strays from the normal toga style and is in a shiny satin material instead of the usual white/cream cotton. Just lose the bra straps or go clear! But I loves it. The same holds true for the white one…its the normal toga wrap but jazz it up with a pink scarf with gold trimming and a gold belt…the possibilities are endless.

Of course if you’re not adventurous as me you still have no excuse as one-shouldered dresses are all the rage right now thanks to them being a favourite of First Lady Michelle Obama. How gorgeous is that green?
