Happy 47th Jamaica!!!!!! In 1962, my beautiful momma was born, and now she always has a reminder of just how old she is this year. LOL! August 6th is Independence Day for Jamaica and today is an absolutely beautiful beach day. The sun is shining brightly and the cool breeze is in high gear. I sure do wish I was sprawled out on a Negril beach with my homies sipping a pina colada like most of the young ppl do this time of year, but alas I am home, holed up by new developments in my life. Yes world, Irie Diva’s gonna be a momma and that’s the reason I have been M.I.A for so long. The first trimester high-kicked me up, down and all the way round, but now I’m feeling better and back at it!

So now that we’ve knocked swimsuits out the ball park, what will you wear to the beach, in the hotel, out to lunch, walking the strip or over the swim suit en route to the parties??? My favourite right now is the tube dress and gladiator flats combination. Tres cute no?

I found these options over by Charlotte Russe. Right now I am obsessed with finding the perfect pair of gladiator flats to buy. I think they go from day to night while keeping the cute. As I give my fabulous heel collection a rest for the next few months, I think these flats can still be paired with a cute party dress and take me out on the dancefloor, dontcha think?

How about a cute caftan looking top like this one. Throw it over your swimsuit and you’re effortlessly chic. Pop on your designer shades (faux if you’re like me and will very much throw them somewhere mid pina colada) and you’re showing enough skin for the beach and hiding everything else you may want to hide.

If you’ve slaved away all year in the gym and got your summer body on then flaunt it in a long flowing beach skirt or pants instead.
