Caribbean Fashion Week 2015 First Look, Love for Cedella Marley

I started to write a recap of CFW 2015 Emerging Designer’s Showcase and Night 1 when I realised I had signed up for a bigger job than my tired eyes were about to allow right this minute, so this first post is just a shout out to Cedella Marley who stole the show on Saturday night with her amazing Harambe collection, dedicated to her mother Rita Marley.

It was African print perfection, everything my urban, ethnic, Caribbean, free-spirited heart desired. Video of the final walk is above, she surely brought the house down and her family was out in full force to support her. It was surely my pick for the collection close to what a Sangster’s Rum Cream Coconut flavoured chica would rock, though there were so many other island chic collections that were fabulous too. Paradise Prints from St. Lucia is also at top of mind for me, her handpainted designs were everything.

How awesome is her dress?

Shout out to me as I was able to grant myself my wish of rocking Jamaican made designs to Caribbean Fashion Week and that I did. I didn’t quite make it to couture designers but me and my new favourite seamstress were able to pull together a couple of amazing looks. Have a look below and tell me if you like our designs! You’ll get all the details about her soon!
