The Yahdie Conscious GlamHEAD Trunk Show
Though quite late, I managed to make it out to the trunk show over the weekend and I was so happy I did! I was introduced to a variety of headbands to jazz up my teeny weeny afro and help me get through “the awkward stage” although I have a sudden urge to shave my head a la Cassie
Anyway, I met the lovely designer Jami Spence on arrival and she graciously snapped my pics as I tried different headbands…these are a few that I loved:

I’ve gotten two press releases recently that shared some very exciting information. There will be a showing of Caribbean collections at this year’s London Fashion Week and five Jamaicans are among the lot!

This info popped into my inbox early this morning and I decided to check it out shortly before my usual Saturday supermarket run. Keneea and Camesha were some of the first local designers that supported me and my idea of having a fashion blog, inviting me to all their fashion shows and doings interviews with me back when most people didn’t know what a blog was and didn’t want to work with a small fry like myself. I saw some updates floating across my twitter timeline that she recently launched a new line so I headed over to her website to see what was new. Allow me to share with you my favourite pieces from her.

Read MoreRep JA accent still going strong

I did an article on Rep JA tees way back in 2008 and I feel good that I can come back 2 years later and report that the brand is still going strong. T-shirt brands come and go in Jamaica like bulla and pear so maybe the fact that theyre not actually based in Jamaica is helping some but I’m sure its because they’re putting in the work! I don’t know these guys, have never met them but I sing their praises because I like to see longevity in Jamaican fashion because its a field I strive to be in and we are such a creative people that I really think our fashion industry should be much larger than it is even now.
