BFFs @Kate_and_Kayla take Jamaica

Last week sometime I got a notification that Kate and Kayla are now following me on twitter and their bio intrigued me:

the story of two Canadian girls who quit their jobs, sold everything and moved to Jamaica in pursuit of adventure, sunshine and happiness …..

Isn’t it something straight outta House Hunters International? LOL I started to read their blog and I was so fascinated! I read it all. They’re good story-tellers. Not to mention they introduced me to a couple spots here in Jamaica that I, the local who considers myself quite the adventurer, have never heard about. I need to make it out to Flavours Beach after reading that post. And after reading everything I decided I wanted to know even more and reached out to them to have a little chat. Congratulations are in order for Miss Universe Runner-up 2010 Yendi Phillips who made an announcement last night on Facebook that she was 17 weeks pregnant and expecting “a little McGregor.”

You already know how much my family is a huge fan of Bob Marley, my daughter was named after him. So when the premiere was set for Emancipation Park, it was never an if, but a what time would I go. I’m so happy I was able to bring out my pops and make it a true family event because that is exactly the feeling the park evoked that evening: family. It was like one big family gathering with everybody laying out on the lawns.

Great!!! And I went all by my lonesome, how awesome would it have been if I went with my friends? I was so tired after a very long Saturday that I just decided to swing by “for a quick minute.” I got there around 8ish and left promptly at 9. I didn’t mind the lateness of the event as much as I thought I would. Next time I will simply go even earlier and bring along my munchkin. It didn’t have any rides for the kiddies though, just an Appleton lounge for the big people. Anyway it seems I was pretty early as everything was still plentiful and so I walked around leisurely sampling everyone who had samples and spoke with many vendors pushing their wares.

So it looks in the pictures anyway. I saw some type of polo event float across my facebook timeline courtesy of Skkan Media and had to flip through the pictures. How positively delightful! My inner Julia Roberts came out as I skipped through hats and high society.
