Eat. Sleep. Rave. Repeat. Happy New Year!
That was exactly the theme of my Christmas season. Eat. Sleep. Rave. REPEAT! My golly, I’m exhausted!!! But there was lots to celebrate! I have a new job!!! Tis the reason why I’ve been so scarce around these parts, this is a 9-5 aka 9-9 and it’s a doozy but I love it and I hope to be able to grow in it and take us both (me and the role) to new heights. Listen, there was a time when I thought the only way for me to be happy was to migrate and make it elsewhere so you have no idea how happy I am to be in a role that calms my spirit and makes me feel like I can make it right here at home cause when yuh check it out Lord, nuh weh nuh betta dan yard.
The highlight of Christmas for me was being able to have my entire family in my home in December. Family is what the season is about, yes? I also trimmed my hair, blew it out, went to a lot of parties and met some awesome people. 😀 Here are a few highlights in no particular order:
Druscilla came back out for Sting. Yes, I went to Sting. Twas quite the experience. I wish I had the stamina to have been there until daylight like the rest of the crowd because I heard Sizzla’s performance brought the house down! Highlights for me were definitely Lady Saw and Macka Diamond’s “clash” Lady Saw wiped the floor clean with her, and seeing Supercat and 2 Chainz.
Christmas dinner at my place. It was perfect. I made roast chicken, garlic fish filet, mac and cheese and bread pudding. All delicious! There was also curry goat, candied sweet potatoes, potato salad (off the chain!!!) garden salad, christmas cake and of course, sorrel. And my sis made cookies! We played mashups of charades and taboo and then went on to a game of kalooki. It was the perfect night.
Munchkin all dolled up for her Christmas concert at school. I got this dress off Amazon for $14!!! Awesome eh?
The Solomons. Attended my brother-in-law’s wedding. It was perfect. Intimate, personal, sweet, family. Mr. Solo bought this dress for her locally for about 5 times what I paid for my Amazon dress, but it was perfect too.
Aforementioned Christmas concert. I need to load the video. A bunch of 3 and 4 year olds on stage is nothing but pure laughs and awws LOL
The blown out hair. I loved it, I need to practice straightening it myself so I can have this look more than once per year. I trimmed it also and my hair has been on 10 ever since. I surely fell back in love with my natural hair after the trim. Trims are good for your hair! It’s so full and fluffy now!
The high puff, my go-to second and 3rd day hairstyle. Also, new dress and bag and sandals! *insert lovey eyes face*
At Soiree on Christmas Eve. Say hello to the girls. 🙂
Munchkin attended a Christmas camp courtesy of Mrkologie that saw her creative side flourish. She came home with new crafty things almost every day. She loved it, thanks Mo!
Look at that hair flourish! Maaaaan that trim.
New Year’s Eve with my ladies. How was your holiday season?
Great Post hun! and a Happy New Year Ms. Social Butterlfy.
Someone had a great Christmas! Loving the hair 🙂 .
