21 Law of Attraction FAQs Answered

As I’ve been studying and applying the principles of the Law of Attraction and manifestation, I’ve had to do a lot of research for questions I had. The law of attraction is the law that says what you focus on, you will attract into your life. This law is at work whether you’re aware of it or not, just like gravity. This is why many people are learning about the law of attraction so they can purposely manifest their desires into their life.

While there is a lot of amazing information out there, it can often bring up even more questions. So, here are some frequently asked questions and answers about the law of attraction.

1. What is mirror work?

Let’s start with one of the less known manifestation techniques; mirror work. What is it exactly? The mirror technique involves using affirmations that you say out loud, but you say when looking at your own reflection in the mirror. You can also just repeat your desires, similar to scripting in the present tense, but at your own reflection.

With the law of attraction, this helps you to really tap into your subconscious mind when you look at yourself as you use these words, and can be much more powerful than saying them while your eyes might cause you to be distracted by other surroundings.

2. What is a manifesting box?

Another fun activity that helps you to manifest what you desire is a manifestation box, sometimes referred to as an intention box. This is literally a physical box where you place items that you want to manifest. Often times, it includes messages, notes, scripts, pictures, and objects that represent what you are trying to manifest.

For example, if you are trying to manifest buying a house, you might include a house key, a small doormat for your house, photos of the type of house you want, maybe even a map or tour guide of the city where you want to buy your house. You can also include a script where you write down what your life will be like when you buy your house.

3. What if people try to manifest something negative? 

This is a very common concern people have when it comes to the law of attraction. While most people want to manifest something good in their life that doesn’t have any negative consequences for other people, you might be concerned that not everyone has the same dream.

If you are concerned that someone else can use the law of attraction to make something bad happen to you or another person, no need to worry! The law of attraction is about love, as mentioned by Rhonda Byrne in the book The Power.

When someone has negative emotions or is trying to manipulate another person, that doesn’t come from a place of love. It comes from fear, resentment, jealousy, anger, and so many other negative emotions. You can’t manifest anything with these negative feelings.

4. How do you control your negative feelings? 

Similarly, if you are worried about your own negative feelings when you’re trying to focus on manifesting, remember that nobody is going to think positively 100 percent of the time. It is true that the more positive and uplifting your thoughts, the higher your vibrations are going to be. 

But just because you have the occasional negative thought, doesn’t mean you can’t manifest anything. What you want to focus on is having more positive thoughts than negative ones. Let the negative thoughts come, be mindful about them, then let them go.

5. How do you focus on the law of attraction when you’re having a bad day?

The best thing you can do when you are having a bad day or dealing with toxic emotions is to lean into gratitude. Find a reason to be grateful, no matter what is going on. No matter your current circumstances, there is something that you can be grateful for. 

Got a flat tire? Maybe when you are waiting for help, you notice someone waiting for the bus. Be grateful that you even have a car, because not everyone does.

Coworker with a bad attitude? Find joy in the fact that you have a job right now. Remove yourself from the coworker as best as possible and focus on the good in your life. Find a way to still have gratitude for your job and the many other blessings you have. This positive outlook will attract more good things to your circumstances instead of allowing the negative thoughts to fester and become bigger than they are.

6. Can you use the law of attraction to lose weight?

With the law of attraction, you can dream about anything you want that will make you happy and bring you joy. For many people, this includes getting healthier and losing unwanted pounds. Can the law of attraction help you lose weight? Definitely. 

The way it helps with weight loss is by changing your mindset. Oftentimes, excess weight comes from your past negative feelings that caused the weight gain. This might have been fear, sadness, anger, anxiety, depression, and so many other emotions that cause something you don’t want.

To lose weight with the law of attraction, start by accessing the feelings you want when you lose weight. This can help you understand why weight loss is something you dream of and can help shift your mindset.

It also helps a lot when you can live “as if”, which means think of how your life will be different once you lose weight. 

Will you shop for different clothes? Will you be more active? Is your diet going to change? Are you more confident and social? You can do all these things now! You do NOT have to wait until the pounds are gone. Imagine you have already lost the weight, and start living that life right now.

This is a strong indicator to the Universe that you already have what you desire and so it will have no choice but to magnetize itself to you and manifest.

7. How long does it take to manifest?

This is probably one of the most popular questions about the law of attraction. How long until what you want to manifest comes to you? The simple answer to that is, the Universe has its own timing. You can’t control how and when your manifestation will be attracted to you. 

All you can do is ask the Universe for what you want, and have faith that it will be delivered to you, in divine timing. While you wait, enjoy your life, be happy, be grateful for all your blessings, and try to let go of doubt or fear you have – as this can slow it down.

Popular Law of Attraction teacher Abraham Hicks will tell you that you can have whatever you desire once you let go of doubt and are in perfect alignment with your manifestation. 8. Why is letting go so important?

One tip you will hear over and over again is that once you ask the Universe for what you want to manifest, you need to let it go. This means you are not focusing on it constantly, and instead just go about living your life.

Why do you need to let it go? Because when you focus on what you want so much, you are often focusing on what you DON’T have, which is the LACK. The Universe reads this lack and continues to give you more lack instead of manifesting the thing you asked for, which makes it take much longer to get what you are trying to manifest. 

9. Can the law of attraction help with anxiety?

Anxiety is often a paralyzing emotion, one that gets worse the more you think about it. The more fear you have, the worse it is. This is why once you get a panic attack, your fear of another panic attack actually brings them on. This is the law of attraction at work.

Have you ever been fearful before an event that you think will give you anxiety, then suddenly you get anxiety? You are making it worse for yourself based on your own fears and past experiences. 

If you have bad anxiety, try focusing on your good feelings, no matter what situation you are in. Don’t focus on the anxiety, focus on something else, somebody else, anything that can distract you. Start slow and don’t force it. It can take time to change your mindset and relax your body during times of heightened anxiety.

10. What is a flow state?

When you are in the flow state, you are completely immersed in what you are doing. You are “in the zone”, where what you do doesn’t even require a lot of focus because it is so automatic.

Have you ever worked on a project, then when you were done, don’t even remember being conscious during it? That means you were in a flow state. You are in the groove, and barely even notice that time is passing. 

The reason this is great for the law of attraction is that when you are in a flow state, you allow your subconscious mind to take hold, instead of being caught up only in your conscious thoughts. This allows you to visualize much more easily and focus on your feelings, instead of your thoughts.

11. Can you manifest a specific person?

This is another of the more common law of attraction FAQs, but also one of the more complicated. In short, yes you can, but it is not always going to go the way you want it to. Why? Because there is still free will.

If you want to be with someone who also has or has the potential to have the same feelings for you, then yes, you can manifest them into your life. But you can’t force someone to love you or find you attractive if they don’t. 

A better question is to ask WHY you want to attract this person. Really dig deep and remember that true love goes both ways. You don’t want to be with someone who doesn’t really want to be with you.

12. How to deal with negative people who lower your vibration?

The best way to deal with negativity in others is to remember that you are only in control of your own feelings and your own vibrations. You can either choose to avoid people who have low vibrations and you feel are at risk of lowering yours, or you can take better control of your own feelings.

Nothing someone else says or does has to affect you if you don’t let it. Stop letting other people get to you, don’t let their words hurt you, don’t take their words and internalize them. You can’t stop someone else from thinking or feeling what they are going to think or feel – you can only control your own reactions.

13. What are some signs that your manifestation is close?

If you pay attention to your surroundings, you can notice a lot of different signs that what you want to manifest is getting closer, though be aware sometimes you are surprised with no warning signs at all. 

Here are some signs that might mean the law of attraction is at work:

You keep getting messages from the Universe – Notice when you see something you are trying to manifest more frequently. This could be something related to your dream career, a relationship, car, house, really anything.

Your mood is suddenly calmer or happier – This is a sign that your vibration is higher, and that you are entering a higher spiritual level. It could also mean your manifestation is getting closer.

You see patterns – You may also notice messages in the form of patterns. Maybe you keep seeing 2 birds flying at once, always two and never just one or three. You might see numbers in certain sequences like 1111, 333, or 1616. Pay attention to these patterns.

You are getting dreams related to what you want – Maybe your signs are coming in your dreams. If you previously never dreamed in color, then suddenly have these colorful, vibrant dreams, that could be another sign.

14. What does it mean when you allow something to happen?

If you are allowing more into your life, you are open to accepting it. The law of attraction is working whether you realize it or not. Maybe what you wanted to manifest didn’t come to you before because you didn’t allow it, you didn’t accept the signs, and you didn’t take action when the Universe tried to show you a way. 

When you allow, you are much more open to the process, and gladly look at and take action on the signs the Universe is trying to send you.

15. How do you live ‘as if’?

When you live as if, you are adapting the lifestyle that you want to be living someday. You want to get as close to living in that way as possible, no matter what you are trying to manifest. Even little things count as living as if, for example if you want to attract more abundance, maybe you feel once you are making enough money, you will start going on more vacations. Start planning vacations now, but within your current budget. 

Another example is if you are trying to lose weight or get healthier with the law of attraction. Imagine how your life would be different, such as food you would eat or the type of diet, exercising every day, waking up earlier, or spending more time with your friends. Start living as if by doing all these things now.

16. What is a spiritual awakening and how does it happen?

A spiritual awakening is often the step before you become truly enlightened. With spiritual awakening, you are on your own personal spiritual path. You often suddenly wake up to your purpose, what your meaning of life is, and are so much more aware of the things around you. this usually happens when your ego-mind is not being clouded by your thoughts, fears, worries, plans, goals, and the feeling of lack in your life.

With a spiritual awakening, so many of the beliefs you had before are changed. You understand that what you were taught is not necessarily how life or the Universe works. It happens differently for everyone, but often learning more about the Universe and spirituality, letting go of the thoughts or beliefs you had before, and being extremely open-minded can help bring on a spiritual awakening.

17. Is there proof of the law of attraction?

Proof of the law of attraction is everywhere if you pay attention and know where to look. Like attracts like according to the law of attraction, which means what you focus on tends to occur.

For example, if you have ever decided you really want a specific type of car, you look at pictures, you dream about it, you picture yourself driving it, maybe you even test drive it. Then suddenly, you see the car everywhere. Nearly every time you are on the freeway, you see this car all over the place, when before you never noticed it. This is the Universe attracting this car to you in subtle ways.

18. Do people cause their own accidents, illnesses, and other bad things?

This is one of the mysteries of the law of attraction and can cause some conflicting emotions of people who consider it. But here are a few things to keep in mind:

Negativity festers and grows. Negative emotions cause more negative emotions, which can cause negative things in your life. This is what “like attracts like” means. What you focus on often comes true, but not always exactly what you think. if you continue to harbor negative thoughts, they often manifest in misfortune and unfortunate events.

The Universe pays attention to your feelings, not your words or even your actions. Think back on a time when you tried your best to get to work on time, and you were still late. You made your lunch the night before, had your clothes laid out, set an alarm to wake up extra early, made sure you had gas in your tank, did everything possible to make sure you were on time. But you really didn’t want to go to work because of some underlying fear. The emotion of fear was stronger than your actions and words and manifested in you being late, regardless.

Even though you tried to control a situation with your actions, the Universe saw right through it. You may never know the actual reason. There can be other things at play, too. Maybe you were late because if you were on time, you would have been in a very bad accident that could have severely injured or even killed you. Maybe you needed to be late to be disciplined by your boss, which made you think maybe this wasn’t the right job for you, and that led you to find your dream job. 

It is not up to you to control all aspects of the Universe. You just ask for what you want, focus on positive thoughts, good feelings and gratitude, and have faith that your desires are on their way to you.

19. Why is self-love important in the law of attraction?

Have you ever read that for someone to love you, you first need to love yourself? This also applies to the law of attraction. 

If you don’t feel worthy of love and feel true loving feelings for yourself, how do you expect someone else to? This is why it is so important to focus on self-love, appreciating yourself and all your amazing qualities, and knowing you are worthy of love.

20. What is the best manifestation technique? 

Spoiler alert: there isn’t one. We are all individuals who benefit from different things. There are many manifestation methods and techniques to learn, but not all of them are right for you.

Your mind and subconscious is not like anyone else’s, so maybe the 55×5, scripting, and mirror techniques work best for you, even though your sister benefits the most from meditation and visualization. 

This is why it is important to learn as much as you can about various techniques, and try them all out until you notice ones that just feel right to you.

21. Is maintaining positive thoughts all I need to attract my manifestation?

That’s the first step. Without positive thoughts, manifestations won’t come into your physical reality. But then once you have set an intention to manifest something into the physical realm, you must be prepared to take action to help bring it forth.

It’s now up to you to connect with your intuition and listen when the Universe sends you nudges. These come as gut feelings to do something that often lead to you being one step closer to manifesting your desire. Your manifestation won’t just appear before your eyes. There will be some work required on your part. But this work should feel natural. It should excite and inspire you. You should feel like you’re doing exactly what you were called on this earth to do.

When this feeling accompanies the action you are nudged to take, you are well on your way to manifestation.

  1. I have a question and don’t know who to ask.. so I’ve been learning LOA for a month or so and last night I had a weird experience.. I was listening to sleep meditation 417 on chants and I kept telling myself I feel stronger I am perfectly healthy and everything I mentioned came to life .. it felt like they were powerful and every breath made me feel stronger and healthier .. it felt like I wasn’t in this body anymore.. I’ve manifested all my life and I got the exact same tingly feeling I have when I have manifested my car or my degrees.. is that what feel it means because it was an awesome experience
