Creating a life of freedom sounds glorious, doesn’t it?

A life where you do what you want when you want..

Go where you please, when you please…

And make money with ease.

It can truly be glorious. But getting to that stage isn’t easy.

You’d need to let go of a lot of things, like bad habits for instance, and forge new, positive habits instead.

This is how you start cultivating the mindset required for a life of freedom.

This sounds easier said than done but what if you started with these simple tips below?

Here are 8 positive habits you can pick up to help you create a life of freedom.

1. Practice daily gratitude

There are a lot of things you have to be thankful for. Look around you and open your eyes to all the wondrous things you have to be grateful for.

You may be taking everything and everyone around you for granted. Instead, take the time to express your gratitude either by saying it or by doing something nice for yourself and those being nice to you.

The more you give thanks in your daily life, the more you will find more things to be thankful for and increase your happiness. Go deeper with this practice with my gratitude challenge below.

2. Be mindful of the present

Yes, you want to create a life of freedom sometime in the future and you’re actively working on that.

But it doesn’t mean you should ignore your present. Be mindful of what goes on around you and use it as inspiration to improve your quality of life.

Being mindful in the present moment allows you to enjoy and appreciate the now, heightening your awareness of all the good in your life to be thankful for and attracting more of that good to you.

3. Read something new

There’s a lot of truth in the saying, “Knowledge is power.” Instead of relying on information you received years ago, read up on new techniques and new methods to help you achieve your goals faster.

I recommend adding this book to your reading list. It will help you to get in touch with your true self more.

4. Smile more

Smiling is contagious. Those who smile naturally (not in a creepy way!) often get smiles their way, too.

It helps build connections with other people, and you ultimately feel better about yourself for brightening up someone’s day!

Smiling with strangers is a great way to signal to someone that you are friendly and is likely to cause a ripple effect of smiles in your environment.

5. Help others

There are plenty of benefits to helping others. You not only do good deeds for other people, but you’re also helping yourself.

When you know you’re making a difference in someone else’s life, you feel a rush of satisfaction unlike anything else.

You know you’re doing something good and it helps you look at your life more positively as well.

6. Live healthy

Living a healthy lifestyle is important for your long-term happiness. Vices and bad habits may seem like a good idea now, but sooner or later, the negative effects will make itself known to your body.

What good is it to live til we’re old if we’re unable to function on our own?

Keep your faculties in check and your mobility high by eating better and engaging in physical activity often. You know it’s the right thing to do.

7. Spend time with loved ones

We’ve only got a limited time on earth. No matter how busy you get, make a habit of spending quality time with your loved ones.

In the not too distant future, you’ll relive those happy memories, and it will sustain and inspire you to keep on fighting for your dreams.

8. Spend time in nature

In our over-connected social media world, we forget often to look up and appreciate the world around us.

Take the time to disconnect every so often and walk in nature. Appreciate the trees, the sunshine, the earth beneath the soles of your feet.

Breathe fresh air and ground yourself as much as possible. This is how we recharge our bodies and it is also a great way to recharge the mind.
